The Chinese hat is a tiny island in the Galapagos Islands - Chinese Hatfueras of the southeastern tip of Santiago Island and is less than a quarter of 1 square km in size. This Island is a recently created volcanic cone, which is why it is given its descriptive name because it has the shape of a Chinese hat upside down. The shape of the hat is best seen on the north side. In front of Sombrero Chino, on the rocky coastline of Santiago, Galapagos penguins are often seen.
